In the past, Starbucks encouraged the use of environmentally friendly cups, but in order to avoid the expansion of the coronavirus, Starbucks temporarily stopped customers from using reusable cups.
Seattle, WA (Merxwire) - Most people infected with coronavirus are exposed to virus residues or virus droplets. In order to reduce the risk of coronavirus transmission, the Starbucks headquarters in Seattle, USA issued a statement that the company will adopt a new policy to temporarily stop customers from carrying reusable cups.
Starbucks said that for customers who enjoy coffee in the store, the store also only provides disposable cups. More than 1,400 franchise stores in North America will also implement this policy. In addition to restricting customers' use of reusable cups, each store will increase the frequency of disinfection.
To get the epidemic under control, stores need to implement more protective measures. After Coronavirus broke out in China, Starbucks temporarily closed more than 2,000 stores in China, and these emergency measures were learned from relevant experience.
Other Starbucks measures include banning the group's employees from traveling by plane, canceling large employee gatherings by the end of March, and canceling all business travel.
In addition to Starbucks taking emergency measures, the Canadian coffee chain Second Cup also barred customers from bringing repeatable cups on their own. It is expected that more companies around the world will adopt relevant measures.
Coronaviruses have a significant impact on the world. In the past, people from all walks of life advocated the use of environmentally friendly cups instead of disposable cups. Many coffee shops sell reusable cups and even offer eco-friendly discounts.
In the period when the virus continues to spread, the original measures need to have the flexibility to adjust, and humans need to use some measures to protect their lives. Let's work together to reduce the rate of transmission of the coronavirus and look forward to a healthy world.
