Pakistan celebrates Milad-un-Nabi

Ohio Standard (IANS) Sunday 5th February, 2012

People across Pakistan Sunday celebrated Milad-un-Nabi with fervour.

The day began with special prayers for development, safety, peace and unity amongst the followers of Prophet Mohammed.

Special security arrangements were made in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, Peshawar and other cities and towns across the country.

Newspapers and magazines published special supplements, while television channels and radio stations telecast special programmes.

All major government and private buildings, markets, mosques and other landmarks were decorated, Geo TV reported.

Public meetings were held and people renewed their pledge to follow the teachings of the Prophet. They also participated in programmes organised by religious and social organisations.
